  • Distractions

You know when you really want to eat and you’re not hungry? Just bored? Emotional? Anxious? Tired?

Don’t eat! Get yourself hooked on a free iPhone app. Ruzzle is my new addiction! Mindless snacking is a no no for me because of it!

  • Headaches

I honestly believe that I don’t get headaches any longer because of the amount of water I drink. I’ve always got a glass on hand and yes I am constantly in and out of the bathroom, but hey, it’s a small price to pay. I spend a LOOONG time at the computer most days for work & a few hours for recreation & I can’t remember the last time I had a headache. This is the same person that used to suffer badly in her teens. So… give it a try, water water water, great remedy for most things!

  • Howdy! Hope you all had a smashing Crimbo?! I have to share this with you - HEALTHY pancakes! Simply mix a beaten egg with 1 tablespoon of oatbran and 1 tablespoon of greek yoghurt. You can also add a little ground flaxseed if you want a firmer ‘pancake’. Whisk it all together in a bowl until smooth. Then simply spoon the batter onto a frying pan (spray with sunflower/olive oil and let heat up first). Then flip your pancakes after a few minutes, be careful they don’t burn. Keep flipping until browned to your desire. Put on a plate. Add berries to pan and heat up until they burst and you have a little juice. Drizzle all over your pancakes. I added an extra dollup of yoghurt and topped with some pumpkin and sunflower seeds for extra fat and protein. This tastes seriously good! And it’s so so healthy, around 200 cals depending on the amount of ingredients you use (I don’t get too bogged down by calories, I eat little and often to keep my blood sugar levels constant and my metabolism ticking over.)

  • This is one of the easiest breakfasts/snacks to make. Throw some fruit into a pan (berries work best) and gently heat and keep moving around until they burst and the juice comes out. Then layer the warm fruit and juice over greek yoghurt & top however you wish. I often add ground flaxseed and pumpkin seeds. You could also add some toasted nuts for extra protein and fat.

  • Apple and almond butter. One of the easiest, yummiest snacks to prepare. I have to limit myself with the almond butter though, one scoop is never enough! Deeelishhh!

  • Oops I did it again!

But it’s not Oops! It’s another achievement! I got my one mile run down to 5 mins 40 secs! WHAT WHAT?! In the moment I’m on that treadmill I keep going and going and my body is REALLY being pushed to the limit! I wonder how long it will take me to get down to 5 minutes?! Now that is a challenge for myself. Some days I just don’t wanna run so I do other workouts. This may inspire me to keep going on those days. Happy Saturday everyone, I’m now going to bake healthy brownies :)

  • 5.49

Yesterday I beat my one mile run by a whopping ten seconds! New record is 5 mins 49 secs! I was fuelled up with a chocolate sugar rush though - so maybe that propelled my limbs to keep going harder and faster! Let’s see if I can get even quicker before Christmas! I LOVE setting myself challenges! Still struggling on the nutrition side of things, I really do need to clean up my afternoon snacking, but hey ho it’s the festive season and life is for living and enjoying :)
